Tom Bailey Joins the SoPHE Industrial Working Group

We are thrilled to announce that Tom Bailey, Specification Manager - South, has been appointed to the committee of the Industrial Working Group (IWG) under the auspices of the Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE) at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Arup's Head Office in London on 18 April 2024.

The SoPHE Industrial Associates scheme serves as a conduit for fostering closer ties and collaboration between the Society and a diverse array of organisations within the public health engineering sector. This collaboration aims to bolster industry standards and practices through joint efforts with SoPHE, CIBSE, and allied bodies.

The IWG, a pivotal component of this scheme, is a steering committee comprising representatives from manufacturers, contractors, and consultants.

The collective mission is to leverage expertise and resources to drive advancements in public health engineering. This involves championing initiatives and innovations that enhance sustainability, health and safety protocols, environmental standards, work efficiencies, as well as matters pertaining to recruitment and education within the industry.

At the outset, Tom’s primary responsibility will involve assisting with SoPHE’s communication efforts, particularly focusing on the quarterly newsletter. The upcoming summer edition is anticipated to reach an audience of over 9,000 public health engineers.
